For a desk you return to every morning. An amethyst cluster listed at 30–40 g, with purple points on a rough base.
Purple points, rough stone underneath.
In contemporary crystal practice, amethyst is associated with calm. Here the interest is in the uneven tips: small purple points rise at different angles above a rough base. It gives a beginning collection both color and texture.
The story
Amethyst once stood beside ruby and emerald in price. Large Brazilian deposits discovered in the nineteenth century changed that, bringing purple quartz from the rare-jewel cabinet into the collections of many more people.
Choose its desk spot.
Set the cluster on a stable desk or shelf where you can look at the points during a break. Turn it gently to choose the side you like best, then leave space around the tips so they are less likely to be knocked.
