For a small reminder to make room for what matters. A silver obsidian pixiu you can carry loose.
A guardian figure to take along.
The pixiu appears as a guardian beast in old tomb and procession traditions. This small version has a rounded back and shallow ridges that catch the light when you turn it.
The story
A museum in Taichung records its pixiu as a tomb guardian. The catalog also recounts a tale in the Baopuzi that places pixiu in Laozi’s traveling procession.
Decide what you want to keep close.
When you empty your pockets at night, lay the pixiu beside what you need for tomorrow. In the morning, put it in a pouch of your own and leave one unnecessary thing behind.
