For the first date you almost talked yourself out of. A raspberry-red carnelian oval in a gold-tone setting ringed with auspicious clouds.
Red for courage, clouds for luck.
In crystal tradition, carnelian is the stone of courage. The shapes around it come from xiangyun, the auspicious clouds of Chinese art, drawn for centuries as a wish for good fortune. Here a domed raspberry-red oval sits high in a gold-tone setting, with red cloud shapes in teal-blue enamel running around the side and a small red cloud charm at the bail.
The story
The word ruyi means “as you wish,” and old ruyi scepters often have a cloud-shaped head. The cloud form carries a history of good wishes, making a curving outline into something a person could give with an intention.
Before you go
Slide it onto a chain you already own, since it comes as the pendant alone. While you're getting ready, decide on one question you'd like to ask the person you're meeting.
