For the desk where you pause between tasks. A fluorite point with blue-green and deep purple bands.
Look along the bands.
In contemporary crystal practice, fluorite is associated with focus and orderly thinking. The visible bands give this point its character: blue-green areas meet deep purple, with pale internal lines. Their arrangement varies from piece to piece.
The story
The word fluorescence comes from this stone: in 1852 the scientist George Stokes named the glow that some minerals give off under ultraviolet light after fluorite.
Choose the side you want to see.
Set the point on a stable indoor desk or shelf, away from the edge. Turn it gently to find the banded side you prefer, then leave it where you can notice the colors during a break. Keep it apart from pieces that could knock against it.
