Studio Notes / Choosing a green bracelet
A closer look at soft green
Prehnite bracelets.
What are you looking at?
Pale green, pale yellow and cloudy white: a softly varied strand. Compare its colour and internal detail, see how prehnite differs from jade, then find the fit for you.
If you love pale green but want more than one flat shade, look at the whole strand. Our prehnite bracelet moves between green, pale yellow and cloudy white, with clearer beads beside mistier ones. Explore our 7mm prehnite bracelet →
Is prehnite the same as jade?
No. GIA's jade reference describes jade as a term for nephrite, jadeite and, under certain conditions, green omphacite. Prehnite is a separate silicate mineral. In GIA's description of prehnite jewellery, its typical light-green to yellow-green appearance has a misty quality.
Use the photos to compare the look you enjoy, and the material details to understand what you are buying. If you are choosing specifically between prehnite and jade, ask what identification or treatment information supports the listing; colour alone does not identify the material.
What should I make of cloudy areas or dark marks?
Start by noticing what you actually see: a hazy centre, a clearer edge, a darker patch or a change from green to pale yellow. Compare several beads, not just the most translucent close-up. Would you enjoy that variation around the whole strand?
Cloudy centres and darker details add variation to the appearance. Look at them across several beads, alongside the surface finish. If a line looks like a chip or crack, ask about that specific bead and request a closer view before choosing.
Look for the pale green shade and soft internal pattern you enjoy. Avoid scratch or heat tests, which can damage a polished bracelet; contact us if you would like help with material details.
Four different things a listing can tell you
Material name
“Prehnite” names the material being sold. “Green” describes a colour. Read both; do not assume every green bracelet is the same stone.
Bead diameter
Our option is labelled 7mm; its recorded sample bead range is 7.4–7.8mm. Nominal sizes describe the bead category; natural dimensions vary slightly.
Wrist-size label
Our supplier-listed wrist size is 15.5cm. This is not a measured inner circumference or a guarantee of fit on your wrist.
Treatment statement
Our prehnite is not dyed or heated, as confirmed by Stone Whisper. Soft green colour and natural internal detail give each bead its own character.

Before ordering, measure the wrist where you will wear the bracelet and compare it with the product's fit information. Our bead-size guide helps compare the look of different diameters; it does not measure a person's wrist.
Can the bracelet carry something personal?
Soft green can be a lovely way to mark a fresh beginning: a move, a new role or a little more room for yourself. Prehnite is associated in crystal practice with renewal, kindness and an open heart. Pair that wish with a colour and finer bead profile you would enjoy wearing.
For a design based on your words, describe the person, the situation and any material preferences in Need. It chooses from available materials and explains the actual result with its own quote. Share your preference for prehnite, then review the stones selected for your own design. To choose every bead, use Builder. Birth starts with your own birth details; Builder lets you arrange each bead yourself.
For a gift, begin with the thank-you you want to express. For a deeper example of the words-led route, see how a real Studio brief connects to a strand.
Care for the whole bracelet
Wipe gently with a soft cloth. Avoid hard knocks, strong heat and household chemicals. Remove the bracelet before activities that could catch the cord or strike the beads; the cord needs care as well as the stone. See our care guide, shipping information and return terms before ordering.
