Obsidian and tiger eye, bead by bead.

You want a bracelet that is mostly black, with a few points of gold. The hard part is never which stone. It is how many gold beads, where they sit, and how far apart. Too many and it turns into decoration. Too few and it looks like one fell off.

The starting idea was one line: a black base, four warm gold accents, each followed by one clear bead.

Count it

23 beads, three materials: fifteen silver sheen obsidian, four yellow tiger eye, four clear quartz.

Two rules: gold appears every six beads, and every gold bead is followed by a clear one.

One more thing you can see in the preview: 23 beads in four groups do not split evenly. Of the four dark runs, three are four beads long (5 to 8, 11 to 14, 17 to 20) and the last is three (23, 1, 2). That is how this strand works out, not a rule; change the count or the number of groups and the result changes. We put the short run at the counting point; you can move it anywhere.

What each stone is doing

Silver sheen obsidian · fifteen · the base. Obsidian is volcanic glass. Silver sheen is the kind that shows a silvery reflection as the bead turns: close to plain black in flat light, a layer of gray silver at another angle. We chose it over plain black so that the fifteen-bead base has some movement of its own: a flash inside the black as the wrist turns. In the Studio this is an 8mm material. It is a different item from the 10mm silver sheen obsidian bracelet in the shop, with its own size and quote.

Yellow tiger eye · four · the points of gold. Tiger eye is a quartz gem material with a band of silky light that moves as you tilt it. Four is enough because it is bright: eight would double the share of gold, and it would no longer be "black with gold" but a different bracelet. Four means you catch one every so often as your wrist turns.

Clear quartz · four · the breath after each gold bead. Transparent quartz. Its job is to give each gold bead two different neighbors: black on one side, clear on the other. That is our choice, not a rule; you can also set the gold straight against black, and both versions show in the preview. On this strand it is not a second accent. It is part of the gold.

Change it

In Open Studio, tap a bead to remove it, choose an available stone to add, and drag to rearrange. Complete the ring before you check the updated quote. Two changes worth trying:

• Swap each clear bead with the tiger eye just before it (3 with 4, 9 with 10, 15 with 16, 21 with 22), so the order becomes clear, gold, black, and see whether the gold reads differently. We dragged all four pairs in the live tool. Clear beads moved to 3, 9, 15 and 21; gold moved to 4, 10, 16 and 22. The verified quote remained $89.
• Remove one gold-and-clear pair, add two obsidian to complete the ring, and see it with three points of gold. We returned to the original order, removed positions 21 and 22, and added two obsidian beads. At 21 beads the tool showed “Price when complete” and disabled the purchase button. Once filled, the strand had 17 obsidian, 3 tiger eye and 3 clear quartz; the verified quote was again $89. Fewer gold accents did not make this particular strand cheaper.

What is your base color? Black is not the only one. The same pattern works with a deep blue or deep green base and a different warm accent; the rule stays. Open the bead-by-bead route and add the materials in the order you want them to sit. Drag a placed bead to move it; tap it to remove it.
