Geological heat, deep underground, shifted my iron from gold to this red — no kiln, no dye, just pressure and time. My bands survived the change: turn your wrist and a line of light moves across me. I’m a Fire stone that keeps its feet on the ground — people tend to put me on for the long, unglamorous stretch of building something.

The fibres inside run in one direction. As the bead turns, a band of light slides across it — chatoyancy, structure catching light. It’s in the stone, not on it.
