What changes besides the color?
Care has a difference. GIA notes that some amethyst color can fade after prolonged intense light, while rose quartz is generally stable in light and heat. Keep either bracelet away from harsh heat and chemicals, and remove it before showering or swimming to protect the cord. Amethyst care: GIA · Rose quartz care: GIA.

What rose quartz is
Rose quartz is one of the quartz varieties used as a gem. The Gemological Institute of America attributes its pink to microscopic, aligned silicate fibre inclusions, which also give the stone its characteristic cloudy translucence and are why it is usually cut into beads rather than faceted (GIA, Rose Quartz Description). GIA rates it 7 on the Mohs scale (GIA, Rose Quartz Care and Cleaning).

Both rose quartz strands are not dyed or heated. Natural pink shades and cloudy translucence give each bead its own character. Choose the finer 8mm profile or a fuller 14mm strand for a more generous band of pink.

Wearing it, and looking after it
Which wrist? Choose the wrist where the pink sits comfortably beside your other jewelry. If you enjoy a personal ritual, let putting it on be a moment to welcome affection or remember someone you love.
Light and heat. GIA describes rose quartz as generally stable when exposed to light and heat (GIA). We still keep every strand out of long, strong sun as a habit, because the cord and other stones on the same wrist are not as forgiving.
Water, sleep, the gym. Take it off, for the cord's sake. GIA lists warm soapy water as safe for the stone itself and says to avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners; for a strung bracelet, a soft dry cloth is the routine. Store flat away from harder jewelry. Full routine on the care page.
