Studio Notes / Choosing a quartz bracelet
Soft purple, finer detail
Purple rabbit hair crystal.
Or an amethyst bracelet?
Fine violet threads or the fuller purple of amethyst? Compare their internal detail, bead profiles and listed wrist sizes to find the kind of purple you would keep reaching for.
“Rabbit hair” is a commercial quartz name associated with fine internal detail. Our selection brings lighter and deeper violet tones together in one strand. Look at the detail within the beads, then compare the overall purple with amethyst to choose the appearance you would enjoy wearing.
Purple rabbit hair or amethyst: which appearance would I wear?
Choose purple rabbit hair if you enjoy paler violet areas and varied internal detail. Choose Uruguay amethyst if you prefer a deeper band of purple with a simpler overall look. Compare the whole strand as well as the individual beads: both are part of the appearance you will wear.

A gift for their next idea
For the friend starting art school, returning to painting, or making time for a project of their own, choose a gift that says, “Keep seeing things your way.” Purple carries the color symbolism of imagination, intuition and reflection. The varied violet tones and fine internal detail make this strand a fitting choice for someone who loves art, ideas and the unexpected.
Before dispatch, we prepare your bracelet with our sage and clear quartz cleansing ritual. A Stone Whisper gift box and 20–40g of clear quartz chips are included, ready for them to open, wear and make personal.
A closer look at the violet detail

Look for the mix of clearer violet areas, cloudy detail and darker patches that you enjoy. Then return to the whole strand: those small differences create its overall character.

Are the “hairs” rutile?
“Rabbit hair” is a trade name rather than an identification of every inclusion. A GIA-published study of red, yellow and white rabbit-hair quartz found different internal structures and materials. The inclusion material in our purple selection has not been documented, so we describe its visible detail without identifying it as rutile.
What does the 15.5cm size tell me?
Our purple rabbit hair bracelet is listed as 8.5mm beads at a 15.5cm size, with a recorded bead range of 8.5–9mm. Bead diameter and wrist fit are different measurements. Natural sizes vary between beads and batches.
Measure your own wrist where you plan to wear the bracelet, then compare that measurement with the product’s listed sizing before ordering.
Is the purple color dyed?
Our purple rabbit hair quartz is not dyed or heated, as confirmed by Stone Whisper.
Care for the beads and the elastic
Wipe gently with a soft cloth. Remove the bracelet before showering, swimming or work that could snag the cord or strike the beads. Avoid household chemicals, soaking, prolonged strong sunlight and extreme heat. See our bracelet care guide for storage and cleaning.
