Studio Notes / Choosing a blue bracelet
Kyanite bracelets: choose your blue.
A deep blue-grey bead, or a lighter blue with pale streaks? Start with the appearance you like, then consider how you wear a bracelet.
Two blues in our current Studio.
Choose a deeper blue-grey or a lighter, brighter blue. Compare the streaks as well as the base color to find the bead you want to build around.
Compare the deeper and lighter blue appearances, including the pale streaks that give each bead its character. Natural colors and markings vary.
Kyanite or lapis lazuli?
Want blue as the main color, with a little golden detail? Our finished 8mm Lapis Lazuli Bracelet brings deep blue and golden flecks to a white shirt, grey knit or the jewelry you already wear. Kyanite has a different character: pale streaks through a deep grey-blue or lighter blue bead.
Start with kyanite in Builder if that streaked appearance draws you, then arrange the strand to suit your colors. Choose lapis if you prefer the blue-and-gold look in an existing complete design. Explore the finished lapis bracelet, or build your kyanite strand and review the complete arrangement, fit and quote before ordering.
Will it suit the way you wear jewelry?
Kyanite's scratch resistance varies with direction. Enjoy its streaked blue in gentler everyday wear, and protect the beads from knocks.
Take the bracelet off before the gym, heavy work or activities where it could repeatedly hit a hard surface. Handle the strand lightly and avoid pulling or twisting the elastic.
Care for the whole bracelet.
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store it separately from harder jewelry. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners and repeated impacts. The cord and neighbouring stones matter as well as the kyanite. See our bracelet care guide for the routine and what to do if a strand needs attention.
Choose your kyanite design.
Start in Builder with the blue you want: Kyanite · Deep gray blue or Kyanite · Light gray-blue. Arrange your strand, then review the selected beads and complete quote before ordering.
Measure your wrist where you plan to wear the bracelet, then use that measurement for your Studio wrist setting.
See how to measure your wrist, or compare the other material guides.
