“They set me in a pharaoh’s mask,
and ground me down for skies.

I’m in Tutankhamun’s funerary mask; Renaissance painters crushed me into ultramarine. I’m a rock, not a single mineral — deep-blue lazurite shot through with gold pyrite. I’m softer than quartz, so keep me away from harder jewellery and wipe me dry. People wear me when they mean to say the true thing out loud.

Look into one bead.

The blue is lazurite; the gold is pyrite, grown in, not painted on. No two flecks land the same way — every bead reads a little differently, and that’s the proof it came out of the ground.

Made to be lived in.

A stone bracelet shouldn’t live in a drawer. The 8mm beads sit light on the wrist — you forget them until the pyrite finds a lamp and glints. A Water stone: deep water, not rapids.

Sized to your wrist — no two strands identical.

Why people keep it on

  • Light on the wrist — 8mm beads, easy under a shirt cuff
  • Deep, old blue with gold flecks — works with everything
  • Elastic strand, easy on and off
  • Ages with you — natural stone, no coating to wear off

Wear it with: Red Tiger Eye — its warm bands answer the gold in the pyrite.

“With lapis we grade for how the gold lands — small, even pyrite flecks in a blue that stays deep. Beads where white calcite clouds the surface don’t make the strand. It’s also the softest stone we string, so it gets its own tray at the bench, away from the quartz.”

Questions

Measure your wrist with a strip of paper. S fits ~15cm, M ~17cm, L ~19cm. The elastic gives a little either way.
Yes — real lapis lazuli, no dye and no glass. The gold flecks are pyrite, a mineral grown into the stone, not paint. And because lapis is a rock of several minerals, the colour varies bead to bead — deeper here, brighter there.
Gently — lapis is softer than quartz (5–5.5 Mohs). Keep it away from harder jewellery so it doesn’t pick up scratches, wipe it dry if it gets wet, and take it off before showering. The care card walks you through it.
