For a collection that has outgrown a drawer. An empty brown wooden tray divided into small compartments.
Sort the pieces you keep.
Keeping a small collection in order can be part of a daily crystal practice. The tray has compartments in several shapes, giving tiny stones, beads and keepsakes separate places to sit. The tray arrives empty, so you choose what belongs together.
The story
In 1735, Carl Linnaeus arranged minerals, plants and animals into three kingdoms in Systema Naturae. His compact tables turned a huge variety of things into an order the eye could follow, making sorting part of the work of discovery.
Arrange one section at a time.
Start with a few pieces that fit comfortably within the compartments and leave some space between them. Keep the tray on a level desk or shelf. Check the compartment dimensions before choosing it for a particular piece; those measurements are not listed here.
